Thousands of investors are affected by the alleged fraud of the FTX exchange and Sam Bankman-Fried, many of them have suffered huge losses. The U.S. government is taking the FTX case very seriously, in recent days they have mobilized for the victims of the FTX fraud.
A glimmer of hope for FTX victims ?
The United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, has launched a website for victims of the alleged FTX exchange fraud to work closely with authorities to defend their rights. Williams is calling on victims to come forward and participate in this effort to get justice.
“If you believe you have been a victim of fraud by Samuel Bankman-Fried, aka ‘SBF,’ please contact the U.S. Attorney’s Office Victim/Witness Coordinator.”
states the notice on the SDNY website.
Victims can now come forward on the website. To do so, they must log on to the website and then contact the U.S. Attorney’s Office Witness and Victims Coordinator.
Victims of the FTX crash can check their status on the website launched by the US Attorney. They can also send an email to the address listed on the site and view a list of their rights. In addition, the legal teams in charge of the bankruptcy proceedings in the United States and the Bahamas will work together to try to recover money from those involved in the FTX case.
Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of the FTX platform, has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. He claims he did not commit a crime, but admits to mismanaging the platform. Meanwhile, there are still several lawsuits pending regarding the collapse of FTX. The prosecution recently told the bankruptcy court that it had taken possession of 56 million Robinhood shares (worth $450 million) owned by Sam Bankman-Fried and Gary Wang.
