Sigma Capital : A new key player in the Web3 Space

Sigma Capital, a crypto investment fund based in both Dubai and Singapore, has quickly established itself as a leading figure in the Web3 ecosystem. Founded in 2020, the investment firm specializes in funding blockchain startups in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Having invested in over 50 projects already, Sigma Capital is making a strong comeback with a $100 million fundraising round. According to Vineet Budki, CEO of Sigma Capital, their goal is to support 100 new innovative and promising startups:

“We envision a more open, inclusive, and innovative digital economy. The dynamic economy of the UAE and its forward-thinking regulatory environment provide the perfect setting for Web3 innovation. This fund enables startups to secure capital, access our extensive network and expertise, and thrive in a fast-evolving landscape.” Budki stated in a press release.

Focused investments to uncover Web3 Gems

Sigma Capital aims to discover only “talented teams and cutting-edge technologies”. Their priority is to identify initiatives offering “new practical solutions.” The emphasis is clearly on potential mass adoption.

In this context, they have chosen to focus on sectors such as DeFi, RWA, gaming, and metavers. According to their communication, they will allocate the $100 million as follows: 50% in “early stage” startups, 40% in liquid tokens, and 10% in funds-of-funds over the next three years.

With VCs deploying $13.6 billion by 2024, these fundraising rounds are indicative of market trends. With a promising 2025 ahead, Sigma Capital aims to lead the UAE market.

“The dynamic economy of the UAE and its forward-thinking regulatory environment provide the perfect setting for Web3 innovation,” Budki stated.

Moreover, according to Galaxy Digital, the election of Trump and the introduction of a new regulatory framework could lead to a 50% increase in fundraising in the country. Experts, including Hashkey Capital’s CEO, Deng Chao, believe the RWA sector could benefit the most in 2025.

Evidently, the launch of Donald Trump’s RWA World Libertyfi tokenization platform clearly signals the industry’s direction for the current year.

In conclusion, with this new fundraising round, Sigma Capital once again asserts its leadership position. This dynamic is expected to result in many exciting advancements in the coming months and years.
